Chef Manish Mehrotra, a remarkable talent who has made significant contributions to modern Indian cuisine:

Manish Mehrotra was born in Patna, Bihar in 1974. His childhood was spent in a completely vegetarian household, where even onion and garlic were not consumed.
He attended St. Xavier’s High School in Patna and later moved to New Delhi for high school at New Era Public School.
Manish pursued Hotel Management at the Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai. During his studies, he developed a strong liking for food production.
His culinary journey began in Mumbai, where he worked with Ananda Solomon’s team at the Thai Pavilion of the Taj Group of Hotels.

After joining Old World Hospitality, Manish transformed Oriental Octopus at Delhi’s Habitat World into a sought-after dining spot.
He spent over two decades with the company, opening several restaurants and honing his culinary skills.
Manish traveled extensively across Asia, gaining exposure to diverse cuisines. His time in London exposed him to various culinary styles.
Feeling that Indian food should evolve beyond the typical curry-based restaurants, he decided to create something innovative.
Indian Accent Restaurants:
Manish is the Culinary Director of Indian Accent Restaurants located in Delhi, Mumbai, New York, and Comorin, Gurugram.
Indian Accent in New Delhi (opened in 2009) is widely regarded as the best restaurant in India. Its chic, contemporary ambiance attracts a stylish international clientele.
The restaurant offers a tasting menu with dishes plated in a contemporary Western style, showcasing the fusion of authentic Indian flavors with pan-Asian and Western techniques.
Both front-of-house and back-of-house teams receive extensive training, ensuring a seamless dining experience.
Michelin Star Recognition:
Manish Mehrotra is indeed a Michelin star holder. His passion for food has earned him worldwide recognition.
While his own restaurants don’t have Michelin stars, chefs who started their careers with him, such as Himanshu Saini (Tresind Studio in Dubai) and Sajeev Nair (Trishna London), have achieved Michelin-starred success.
